Ms. Jill Griffin

Jill Griffin received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master of Science in Biological Sciences. For more than 15 years, she worked as a structural and safety engineer, primarily in the Las Vegas area, overseeing the construction of many schools, hospitals, and casinos.

From a young age, Ms. Griffin volunteered as a church organist at her parish and eventually felt called to leave the corporate world to become the full-time Director of Music & Worship at St. Boniface Church in Edwardsville. She has over 17 years of experience teaching music and math at St. Boniface, as well as directing Choir and Band at Father McGivney Catholic High School.

For the past three years, Ms. Griffin has served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at SIUE, where she taught Calculus and Quantitative Reasoning and provided tutoring support in the Math Tutor Lab. During this time, she earned a Master of Music in Organ Performance and a Master of Science in Mathematics with a concentration in Post-Secondary Math Education. Passionate about helping students, especially those who struggle with math, Ms. Griffin enjoys using insights from her engineering career to help students connect classroom ideas to real-world situations.
