Beck and Ellis Named Small School Soccer MVPs

It was a big year for Father McGivney girls soccer — and two Griffins just picked up some well-deserved recognition. Junior forward Natalie Beck and senior center Devin Ellis were named The Intelligencer’s Small School Co-MVPs for girls soccer.

When it comes to scoring, Natalie Beck’s been rewriting McGivney history since she first stepped on the field. She set the single-season goals record with 25 points as a freshman.  She has broken that record, and she currently holds the all-time program record with 68 points.  PLUS....She scored in 18 games this season — and in eight of those, she netted more than one goal. It was incredible to watch her on the field this year, and we can't wait to see her in action as a senior.

You can't have a great offense without the defense holding up there end.  While Beck was filling up the net, Devin Ellis was shutting things down. Ellis helped the Griffins post 17 shutouts and allow only 12 goals all season.  PLUS, she chipped in nine goals of her own, along with nine assists.  After a stellar career as a Griffin, she’ll take her game to the University of Missouri–St. Louis this fall.

McGivney had the perfect one-two punch this season, and we're proud to see our Griffins honored as The Intelligencer’s Small School Co-MVPs for girls soccer.  GO GRIFFINS!
